5 And it came to pass,1961 as soon as834 the kingdom4467 was confirmed2388 in his hand,3027 that he slew5221 853 his servants5650 which had slain5221 853 the king4428 his father.1

6 But the children1121 of the murderers5221 he slew4191 not:3808 according unto that which is written3789 in the book5612 of the law8451 of Moses,4872 wherein834 the LORD3068 commanded,6680 saying,559 The fathers1 shall not3808 be put to death4191 for5921 the children,1121 nor3808 the children1121 be put to death4191 for5921 the fathers;1 but3588 518 every man376 shall be put to death4191 for his own sin.2399

9 And Jehoash3060 the king4428 of Israel3478 sent7971 to413 Amaziah558 king4428 of Judah,3063 saying,559 The thistle2336 that834 was in Lebanon3844 sent7971 to413 the cedar730 that834 was in Lebanon,3844 saying,559 Give5414 853 thy daughter1323 to my son1121 to wife:802 and there passed by5674 a wild7704 beast2416 that834 was in Lebanon,3844 and trod down7429 853 the thistle.2336

9 И послал7971 Иоас,3060 царь4428 Израильский,3478 к Амасии,558 царю4428 Иудейскому,3063 сказать:559 терн,2336 который на Ливане,3844 послал7971 к кедру,730 который на Ливане3844 же, сказать:559 «отдай5414 дочь1323 свою в жену802 сыну1121 моему». Но прошли5674 дикие7704 звери,2416 что на Ливане,3844 и истоптали7429 этот терн.2336

10 Thou hast indeed smitten5221 5221 853 Edom,123 and thine heart3820 hath lifted thee up:5375 glory3513 of this, and tarry3427 at home:1004 for why4100 shouldest thou meddle1624 to thy hurt,7451 that thou shouldest fall,5307 even thou,859 and Judah3063 with5973 thee?

10 Ты поразил5221 Идумеян,123 и возгордилось5375 сердце3820 твое. Величайся3513 и сиди3427 у себя дома.1004 К чему тебе затевать1624 ссору1624 на свою беду?7451 Падешь5307 ты и Иуда3063 с тобою.

11 But Amaziah558 would not3808 hear.8085 Therefore Jehoash3060 king4428 of Israel3478 went up;5927 and he1931 and Amaziah558 king4428 of Judah3063 looked one another7200 in the face6440 at Beth-shemesh,1053 which834 belongeth to Judah.3063

11 Но не послушался8085 Амасия.558 И выступил5927 Иоас,3060 царь4428 Израильский,3478 и увиделись7200 лично6440 он и Амасия,558 царь4428 Иудейский,3063 в Вефсамисе,1053 что в Иудее.3063

12 And Judah3063 was put to the worse5062 before6440 Israel;3478 and they fled5127 every man376 to their tents.168

12 И разбиты5062 были Иудеи3063 Израильтянами,3478 и разбежались5127 по шатрам168 своим.

|
13 And Jehoash3060 king4428 of Israel3478 took8610 Amaziah558 king4428 of Judah,3063 the son1121 of Jehoash3060 the son1121 of Ahaziah,274 at Beth-shemesh,1053 and came935 to Jerusalem,3389 and broke down6555 the wall2346 of Jerusalem3389 from the gate8179 of Ephraim669 unto5704 the corner6438 gate,8179 four702 hundred3967 cubits.520

14 And he took3947 853 all3605 the gold2091 and silver,3701 and all3605 the vessels3627 that were found4672 in the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and in the treasures214 of the king's4428 house,1004 and hostages,1121 8594 and returned7725 to Samaria.8111

14 И взял3947 все золото2091 и серебро,3701 и все сосуды,3627 какие нашлись4672 в доме1004 Господнем3068 и в сокровищницах214 царского4428 дома,1004 и заложников,11218594 и возвратился7725 в Самарию.8111

16 And Jehoash3060 slept7901 with5973 his fathers,1 and was buried6912 in Samaria8111 with5973 the kings4428 of Israel;3478 and Jeroboam3379 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

16 И почил7901 Иоас3060 с отцами1 своими, и погребен6912 в Самарии8111 с царями4428 Израильскими.3478 И воцарился4427 Иеровоам,3379 сын1121 его, вместо него.

17 And Amaziah558 the son1121 of Joash3101 king4428 of Judah3063 lived2421 after310 the death4194 of Jehoash3060 son1121 of Jehoahaz3059 king4428 of Israel3478 fifteen2568 6240 years.8141

26 For3588 the LORD3068 saw7200 853 the affliction6040 of Israel,3478 that it was very3966 bitter:4784 for there was not any657 shut up,6113 nor any657 left,5800 nor369 any helper5826 for Israel.3478

26 ибо Господь3068 видел7200 бедствие6040 Израиля,3478 весьма3966 горькое,4784 так что не оставалось ни заключенного,6113 ни оставшегося,5800 и не было помощника5826 у Израиля.3478

27 And the LORD3068 said1696 not3808 that he would blot out4229 853 the name8034 of Israel3478 from under4480 8478 heaven:8064 but he saved3467 them by the hand3027 of Jeroboam3379 the son1121 of Joash.3101

27 И не восхотел1696 Господь3068 искоренить4229 имя8034 Израильтян3478 из поднебесной,8064 и спас3467 их рукою3027 Иеровоама,3379 сына1121 Иоасова.3101

28 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jeroboam,3379 and all3605 that834 he did,6213 and his might,1369 how834 he warred,3898 and how834 he recovered7725 853 Damascus,1834 and Hamath,2574 which belonged to Judah,3063 for Israel,3478 are they1992 not3808 written3789 in5921 the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Israel?3478
